Founder Verification
Checks designed to support marketplace integrity
DealRoom may check founder and business information before allowing an opportunity to appear to participating investors.
Why applications may be reviewed
DealRoom may review founder and business information before an application appears in the marketplace. The purpose is to reduce fraudulent, misleading or unsuitable submissions and support the integrity of the platform.
Information that may be checked
Checks depend on the application and may include information reasonably needed to assess authenticity.
- Company details
- ABN or ACN, where applicable
- Business website
- Company email
- Public business records
- Founder identity and business information
- Supporting information reasonably required to verify the opportunity
Possible outcomes
DealRoom may approve an application, request changes or more information, reject it, limit its visibility, or later suspend or remove it if concerns arise. Paying for Founder Membership does not guarantee approval.
What verification means
Verification helps maintain marketplace integrity. It does not constitute an endorsement of a business, guarantee of its claims, certification of accuracy, investment recommendation or promise of future performance. It does not make an investment opportunity risk-free.
Founder responsibility
Founders remain responsible for ensuring profile information and documents are accurate, current, lawful and not misleading. Material changes should be reflected promptly.
