How DealRoom handles information

This policy describes the information the platform currently uses and how it supports marketplace discovery, communication, safety and billing.

Information we collect

DealRoom collects information users provide when creating or managing an account and using marketplace features.

  • Account details such as name, email and account type
  • Founder and business profile information, including opportunity and funding requirements
  • Investor profile, preference and verification information
  • Messages, meeting details, reports and support enquiries
  • Subscription status, Stripe customer or subscription identifiers and billing events; DealRoom does not receive full card details
  • Website and feature usage information used to operate, secure and improve the service

Why we use information

We use information to provide accounts and marketplace features, review applications, support verification and moderation, process subscriptions through Stripe, enable communications, provide support, prevent misuse, improve the service and meet legal obligations.

Marketplace visibility

Approved founder information becomes visible to participating investors according to platform permissions and profile settings. Private contact details, investor identity, verification materials and internal moderation notes are not public by default. Users should review what they submit and avoid placing sensitive information in public profile fields.

How information may be shared

Information may be shared with other users where needed for marketplace discovery and communication; with service providers that host, secure, analyse or process payments for the service; where required by law; or where reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety and platform integrity. DealRoom does not treat private information as public merely because an account exists.

Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. Stripe receives payment information under its own privacy terms. DealRoom receives transaction and subscription details needed to provide founder access and billing support, but does not store full payment-card numbers.

Security and retention

DealRoom uses access controls and operational safeguards intended to protect information. No online service can promise absolute security. Information is retained only as reasonably needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, maintain records, prevent abuse and meet legal obligations.

Your choices and questions

Users can update profile information through their account and control certain visibility and notification settings. Requests about access, correction, deletion or privacy can be sent to contact@dealroomau.com. Some information may need to be retained where required for security, recordkeeping or legal reasons.

This policy does not invent collection practices beyond the current platform features and should receive professional privacy-law review before launch.
