Trust & Safety

Clear standards for confident introductions.

DealRoom brings founders and investors together while keeping the boundaries of our service clear. These standards explain how the marketplace operates, how information is handled and what we expect from every participant.

A non-custodial marketplace

DealRoom is a technology, discovery and introduction service. We do not receive, hold, transfer or custody investment funds; execute transactions or investment agreements; act as a broker, dealer, adviser or agent; perform due diligence on a user’s behalf; or guarantee capital, opportunities, returns or outcomes. Any decision, negotiation, verification and transaction takes place independently between users and their professional advisers.

Privacy by design

Private contact details, investor identity, verification material and internal moderation notes are not made public by default. We limit profile visibility according to account type and platform permissions, use account information to operate and protect the service, and expect users to share sensitive information only when they are comfortable doing so. Authorised service providers may process information where needed to deliver, secure and maintain DealRoom.

Honest participation

Users must provide accurate information, respect confidentiality, communicate professionally and comply with applicable laws. Fraud, impersonation, harassment, spam, fabricated credentials or metrics, misleading statements, guaranteed-return claims and attempts to misuse another person’s information are prohibited. Users should independently verify identities, claims, companies and opportunities before taking action.

Review and enforcement

Profiles, submissions, messages and reports may be reviewed to protect the community. We may request clarification, require changes, limit visibility, suspend access or remove content or accounts that breach these standards or create safety, legal or integrity concerns. A profile review or approval means only that it may participate on the platform; it is not an endorsement, certification or investment recommendation.

Service terms at a glance

You must be legally able to use the service and are responsible for your account, submissions, communications and decisions. Access may change or be interrupted as the platform evolves, and features or policies may be updated where reasonably necessary.

DealRoom provides the service on an “as available” basis. To the extent permitted by law, users remain responsible for their own legal, financial, tax and commercial advice and for losses arising from independent dealings with other users.

Questions or safety concerns
